استُشهد برصاص الشرطة وحرس الحدود. وزعمت الشرطة الإسرائيلية في البداية أن سائق السيارة التي كان فيها حاول دهس أفراد الشرطة. ثم سُحب هذا الادعاء لاحقًا. وتُظهر لقطات فيديو بثتها وسائل الإعلام أحد الأفراد يطلق النار، على ما يبدو على السائق الذي كان ملقى على الأرض مصابًا. وقد وجّهت نيابة لواء القدس إلى السائق، الذي أُصيب بجروح طفيفة في إطلاق النار، تهمة القتل بالإهمال في وفاة نمر، بقيادته المتهورة تحت تأثير المخدرات والكحول.

Shot dead by police and Border Police. Israel Police initially claimed the driver of the car he was in had tried to run over the policemen. This claim was later retracted. Video footage broadcast by the media shows one officer shooting, apparently at the driver, who was lying on the ground wounded. The driver, who was lightly wounded by the shooting, was charged by the Jerusalem District Attorney’s Office with negligent homicide in Nimer’s death, by driving erratically under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
