Morto com três de seus filhos, todos menores, o irmão e a cunhada e os dois filhos deles, ambos menores, além de outras 14 pessoas da família estendida, entre elas três menores, que moravam em dois prédios contíguos. Em outro prédio próximo, pertencente à família Abu al-'Oaf, 22 pessoas foram mortas, entre elas nove menores. Em um quarto prédio, situado a cerca de 500 metros dos outros, dois moradores foram mortos. Segundo o Exército, a rede de túneis do Hamas passava sob a rua.

Killed with three of his children, all of them minors, and his brother and sister-in-law and their two children, both minors, as well as 14 other people from his extended family, including three minors, who lived in two adjoining buildings. In another nearby building, owned by the Abu al-'Oaf family, 22 people were killed, including nine minors. In a fourth building located about 500 meters from the others, two occupants were killed. According to the military, the Hamas tunnel network ran under the street.
