Foi morto com a esposa, o filho, a filha, duas noras, seis dos netos do casal, entre eles dois menores, a esposa de um neto e o bisneto de quatro meses, além de oito pessoas da família ampliada que moravam em dois edifícios contíguos, entre elas cinco menores. Em outro edifício próximo, pertencente à família Abu al-'Oaf, 22 pessoas foram mortas, entre elas nove menores. Em um quarto edifício, a cerca de 500 metros dos outros, dois moradores foram mortos. Killed with his wife, son, daughter, two daughters-in-law, six of their grandchildren, including two minors, their grandson's wife, and their four-month-old great-grandson, as well as eight people from their extended family who lived in two adjoining buildings, including five minors. In another nearby building, owned by the Abu al-'Oaf family, 22 people were killed, including nine minors. In a fourth building located about 500 meters from the others, two occupants were killed. According to the military, the Hamas tunnel network ran under the street.
