স্ত্রী, ছেলে, মেয়ে, দুই পুত্রবধূ, দুই নাবালকসহ ছয় নাতি-নাতনি, নাতির স্ত্রী ও চার মাস বয়সী প্রপৌত্রের সঙ্গে এবং পাশাপাশি দুটি ভবনে বসবাসকারী বৃহত্তর পরিবারের আরও আটজনের সঙ্গে শহীদ হন, যাদের পাঁচজন নাবালক। কাছের আরেকটি ভবনে, যার মালিক আবু আল-আওফ পরিবার, নয় নাবালকসহ ২২ জন শহীদ হন। অন্যগুলো থেকে প্রায় ৫০০ মিটার দূরের চতুর্থ একটি ভবনে দুই বাসিন্দা শহীদ হন। সেনাবাহিনীর দাবি, রাস্তার নিচ দিয়ে হামাসের সুড়ঙ্গ নেটওয়ার্ক চলে গিয়েছিল।
