Tué avec trois de ses enfants, tous mineurs, son frère, sa belle-sœur et leurs deux enfants, tous deux mineurs, ainsi que 14 autres membres de sa famille élargie, dont trois mineurs, qui vivaient dans deux immeubles attenants. Dans un autre immeuble voisin, appartenant à la famille Abu al-'Oaf, 22 personnes ont été tuées, dont neuf mineurs. Dans un quatrième immeuble situé à environ 500 mètres des autres, deux occupants ont été tués. Selon l'armée, le réseau de tunnels du Hamas passait sous la rue.

Killed with three of his children, all of them minors, and his brother and sister-in-law and their two children, both minors, as well as 14 other people from his extended family, including three minors, who lived in two adjoining buildings. In another nearby building, owned by the Abu al-'Oaf family, 22 people were killed, including nine minors. In a fourth building located about 500 meters from the others, two occupants were killed. According to the military, the Hamas tunnel network ran under the street.
