Tué après que des agents de l'unité spéciale de police ont tiré à balles réelles et des missiles antichars sur la maison où il se cachait. Selon les forces de sécurité israéliennes, il leur avait d'abord tiré dessus. Le 17 mars 2019, il avait tué un soldat et blessé un civil israélien, qui a succombé à ses blessures le lendemain. Israël retient son corps.

Killed after officers of the Special Police Unit fired live gunfire and anti-tank missiles at the house where he was hiding. According to the Israeli security forces, he had first fired at them. On 17 March 2019 he had killed a soldier and wounded an Israeli civilian, who died of his wounds the next day. Israel is holding his body.
