Cedera parah di kepala akibat tembakan pasukan keselamatan Israel semasa Perarakan Besar Kepulangan berhampiran pagar sempadan Gaza, di utara pekan Khuza'ah; ribuan orang menyertai tunjuk perasaan itu. Abu Jamus ditembak ketika berada kira-kira 100 meter dari pagar. Fatally wounded in the head from shots fired by Israeli security forces during the Return Protests near the Gaza perimeter fence, north of the town Khuza'ah; thousands took part in the protests. Abu Jamus was shot when he was approximately 100m away from the fence. During the protest he had torched tires and thrown stones at Israeli security forces stationed on the other side of the fence. Succumbed to his wounds later that day.
