Wurde während des Großen Marsches der Rückkehr nahe dem Grenzzaun des Gazastreifens nördlich der Stadt Khuza'ah durch Schüsse israelischer Sicherheitskräfte tödlich am Kopf verletzt; Tausende nahmen an den Protesten teil. Abu Jamus wurde angeschossen, als er etwa 100 m vom Zaun entfernt war. Während des Protests hatte er Reifen angezündet und Steine auf israelische Sicherheitskräfte geworfen, die auf der anderen Seite des Zauns stationiert waren. Erlag noch am selben Tag seinen Verletzungen.

Fatally wounded in the head from shots fired by Israeli security forces during the Return Protests near the Gaza perimeter fence, north of the town Khuza'ah; thousands took part in the protests. Abu Jamus was shot when he was approximately 100m away from the fence. During the protest he had torched tires and thrown stones at Israeli security forces stationed on the other side of the fence. Succumbed to his wounds later that day.
