È stato ucciso in casa con la moglie, il figlio, la nuora e due nipoti, entrambi minorenni, oltre a quattro persone della famiglia allargata e altri 12 occupanti, tra cui otto minorenni, in un edificio di proprietà della famiglia. Ventidue membri della famiglia al-Qoolaq (Kolak), sei dei quali minorenni, tra cui un neonato di quattro mesi, sono stati uccisi in due edifici adiacenti. Altre due persone sono state uccise in un quarto edificio a circa 500 metri di distanza. Secondo l'esercito, sotto la strada passava la rete di tunnel di Hamas.

Killed at home with his wife, their son, their daughter-in-law and two of their grandchildren, both minors, as well as four people from their extended family and 12 other occupants, including eight minors, in a building owned by the family. Twenty-two members of the al-Qoolaq (Kolak) family, six of them minors, including a four-month-old baby, were killed in two adjacent buildings. Two more people were killed in a fourth building about 500 meters away. According to the military, the Hamas tunnel network ran under the street.
