أُصيب بالرصاص في الصدر من مسافة قريبة واستُشهد برصاص حرس الحدود في حي الطور في القدس الشرقية، خلال مواجهات أُلقيت فيها مفرقعات على أفراد الشرطة. وبحسب تحقيقات بتسيلم، بقي أبو غنام ملقى على الأرض مصابًا عدة دقائق دون أن يتلقى أي رعاية طبية.

Shot in the chest at short range and killed by Border Police in the neighborhood of a-Tur in East Jerusalem, during clashes in which firecrackers were thrown at the officers. According to B’Tselem’s inquiries, Abu Ghanam lay wounded on the ground for several minutes without receiving any medical attention.
