বৃহত্তর পরিবারের মালিকানাধীন একটি ভবনে মায়ের আত্মীয়দের বাড়িতে বেড়াতে গিয়ে মা, বোন ও দুই ভাইয়ের সঙ্গে শহীদ হন, যারা সবাই নাবালক; ওই ভবনে ছয় নাবালকসহ আরও ১৭ জন শহীদ হন। পাশাপাশি দুটি ভবনে আল-কুলাক (কোলাক) পরিবারের বাইশ সদস্য শহীদ হন, যাদের ছয়জন নাবালক, তাদের মধ্যে চার মাস বয়সী এক শিশু। প্রায় ৫০০ মিটার দূরের চতুর্থ একটি ভবনে আরও দুজন শহীদ হন। সেনাবাহিনীর দাবি, রাস্তার নিচ দিয়ে হামাসের সুড়ঙ্গ নেটওয়ার্ক চলে গিয়েছিল।
