শহরে সামরিক অভিযানের সময় মসজিদ থেকে নামাজ পড়ে ফেরার পথে প্রায় ১০০ মিটার দূর থেকে সেনাদের গুলিতে মাথায় আহত হন। অভিযানের সময় ফিলিস্তিনিরা সেনাদের দিকে গুলি ও পাথর ছোড়ে। কিছুক্ষণ পর আঘাতজনিত কারণে শহীদ হন।
