L'armée affirme qu'il a été visé après avoir tenté de poignarder des soldats. L'enquête de B'Tselem indique qu'il a eu une altercation physique avec des soldats, après quoi il s'est éloigné d'eux. Les soldats ont alors tiré sur lui, le touchant à la jambe. Lorsqu'il est tombé, les soldats ont tiré plusieurs fois. Les soldats ont ensuite retardé sa prise en charge médicale et il a succombé à ses blessures.

The army contends that he was shot after he tried to stab soldiers. B'Tselem’s investigation indicates that he and soldiers had a physical altercation, after which he moved away from them. The soldiers then fired at him, hitting him in the leg. When he fell, the soldiers shot several times. The soldiers then delayed him from receiving medical treatment and he died of his wounds.
