أُصيب بالرصاص في عنقه من جندي عند حاجز قرب بلدة سلواد بعد احتجاجه على إلقاء الجنود قنبلة صوت على سيارته. ورشّ الجنود رذاذ الفلفل في وجه ابنه الذي كان جالسًا في السيارة، ثم حاولوا إجبار كحلة على الجلوس على الأرض. وعندما رفض أطلقوا النار عليه. وأجبر الجنود الابن على الخروج من السيارة ومنعوه من الرعاية الطبية.

Shot in the neck by a soldier at a checkpoint near the town of Silwad after protesting a stun grenade being thrown at his car by the soldiers. The soldiers sprayed pepper spray in the face of his son, who was sitting in the car, then tried to force Kahalah to sit on the ground. When he refused, they shot him. The soldiers forced the son out of the car and denied him medical care.
