È stato ucciso insieme al fratello e alla sorella, entrambi minorenni, alla madre, a due zii, ai nonni e ad altre 14 persone della sua famiglia allargata, tra cui tre minorenni, che vivevano in due edifici adiacenti. In un altro edificio vicino, di proprietà della famiglia Abu al-'Oaf, sono state uccise 22 persone, tra cui nove minorenni. In un quarto edificio, a circa 500 metri dagli altri, sono stati uccisi due occupanti. Secondo l'esercito, sotto la strada passava la rete di tunnel di Hamas.
