È stato ucciso insieme ai genitori, alla sorella, alla moglie, ai suoi tre figli, alla nuora e al nipote di quattro mesi, alla cognata e a tre dei figli di lei, tre dei quali minori, oltre a otto persone della famiglia allargata che vivevano in due edifici adiacenti, tra cui cinque minori. In un altro edificio vicino, di proprietà della famiglia Abu al-'Oaf, sono state uccise 22 persone, tra cui nove minori. In un quarto edificio, a circa 500 metri dagli altri, sono stati uccisi due occupanti. Secondo l'esercito, sotto la strada passava la rete di tunnel di Hamas.
