استُشهد مع والديه وشقيقته وزوجته وأطفاله الثلاثة وزوجة ابنه وحفيده البالغ من العمر أربعة أشهر وشقيقة زوجته وثلاثة من أطفالها، ثلاثة منهم قاصرون، إضافة إلى ثمانية أشخاص من عائلتهم الممتدة كانوا يسكنون في مبنيين متلاصقين، بينهم خمسة قاصرين. وفي مبنى قريب آخر تملكه عائلة أبو العوف استُشهد ٢٢ شخصًا، بينهم تسعة قاصرين. وفي مبنى رابع يبعد نحو ٥٠٠ متر عن المباني الأخرى استُشهد اثنان من قاطنيه. وبحسب الجيش، كانت شبكة أنفاق حماس تمتد تحت الشارع.

Killed with his parents, sister, wife, his three children, his daughter-in-law and four-month-old grandson, his sister-in-law and three of her children, three of them minors, as well as eight people from their extended family who lived in two adjoining buildings, including five minors. In another nearby building, owned by the Abu al-'Oaf family, 22 people were killed, including nine minors. In a fourth building located about 500 meters from the others, two occupants were killed. According to the military, the Hamas tunnel network ran under the street.
