Grièvement blessé lorsque des soldats lui ont tiré dans la poitrine à environ 15 mètres de distance, après qu'il se fut approché d'une ouverture dans la clôture, eut lancé une motte de terre qui a touché une soldate se tenant à quelques mètres de lui, et fut retourné derrière la clôture. Il est mort de ses blessures peu après. Un autre manifestant a été touché à la main par les tirs, et un autre a été touché à la tête par une grenade lacrymogène.

Critically injured when soldiers shot him in the chest from some 15 meters away after he went up to an opening in the fence, threw a clod of earth that hit a female soldier standing several meters away from him, and went back behind the fence. He died of his wounds a short while later. Another protester was hit in the hand by the gunfire, and another was hit in the head by a fired tear-gas canister.
