স্ত্রী ও ছেলেকে নিয়ে যে ভাইয়ের বাড়িতে আশ্রয় নিয়েছিলেন, সেই বাড়ির উঠানে দুপুরের খাবার খেতে যাওয়ার মুহূর্তে বাড়ির উল্টো দিকে আল-ওয়াহদা সড়কের আশ-শাওয়া ভবনে বিমান হামলায় শহীদ হন। তাঁর অপ্রাপ্তবয়স্ক ভাতিজিও শহীদ হয়। হামলায় এনজিওর কার্যালয় থাকা আশ-শাওয়া ভবনের ওপরের দুটি তলা ধ্বংস হয়।
