أُصيب بجروح حرجة في عنقه برصاص الجنود في كفر عقب، خلال مواجهة نشبت أثناء إغلاق منزل مصباح أبو صبيح في القرية. وفنّد تحقيق بتسيلم ادعاء المتحدث باسم الجيش الإسرائيلي بأن خروبي ألقى عبوة ناسفة على الجنود. وتوفي متأثرًا بجراحه في الطريق إلى المستشفى في رام الله.

Critically injured in the neck by soldiers’ fire in Kafr ‘Aqab, during a confrontation that developed while the house of Mesbah Abu Sabih was being sealed off in the village. B’Tselem’s investigation refuted the IDF Spokesperson’s claim that Kharubi had hurled an explosive device at the soldiers. He died of his injuries on the way to hospital in Ramallah.
