Sustained a critical gunshot wound when Israeli soldiers shot him in the back of the head during a protest near the Gaza perimeter fence, east of al-Bureij Refugee Camp. During the protest, demonstrators threw stones at soldiers who were on the other side of the fence. Abu Hilu was about 15 meters away from the fence.
