Foi morto na casa de parentes onde havia se abrigado, no ataque contra o mercado do bairro de a-Shuja'iyeh, na Cidade de Gaza. Outras dezenove pessoas morreram no ataque, entre elas um menor, quatro socorristas – três deles militantes do braço militar do Hamas –, três fotojornalistas e quatro agentes da defesa civil. Antes, um ataque contra a casa vizinha da família a-Silk havia matado nove membros da família, sete deles menores.

Killed in the home of relatives where he had taken shelter, in the strike on the marketplace in the neighborhood of a-Shuja’iyeh, Gaza City. Nineteen others were killed in the strike, including a minor, four medics – three of them Hamas military branch operatives – three photojournalists and four civil defense personnel. Earlier, a strike on the nearby home of the a-Silk family killed nine members of the family, seven of them minors.
