Touché dans le dos par des agents de l'unité spéciale de police alors qu'il fuyait sa voiture, après que les agents l'ont empêché de repartir. Un autre passager palestinien qui se trouvait dans la voiture a été blessé par les tirs. Selon la police, les deux hommes avaient ouvert le feu sur les agents. ‘Amuri a été laissé à terre sans soins médicaux pendant au moins une demi-heure. Lors de l'échange de tirs qui a suivi entre les forces israéliennes et des agents du renseignement militaire de l'Autorité palestinienne, deux de ces derniers ont été tués et un troisième blessé. Israël retient le corps de ‘Amuri, qui était membre de la branche armée du Jihad islamique.

Shot from behind by Special Police Unit officers as he was escaping from his car after the officers blocked him from driving away. Another Palestinian passenger who was in the car was injured by the shooting. According to the police, the two had opened fire at the officers. ‘Amuri was left lying on the ground without medical treatment for at least half an hour. During an ensuing exchange of fire between Israeli forces and PA military intelligence officers, two of the latter were killed and a third wounded. Israel is holding the body of ‘Amuri, who was an Islamic Jihad’s military wing operative.
