هنگامی که در خانه، در فاصله حدود یک کیلومتری حصار مرزی غزه، بود، بر اثر گلوله تانک از ناحیه سر و سینه زخمی شد. مادر و خواهرش در این حمله زخمی شدند. اندکی بعد بر اثر جراحاتش شهید شد.
