খুজাআ শহরের উত্তরে গাজা সীমান্ত বেড়ার কাছে গ্রেট মার্চ অব রিটার্ন বিক্ষোভে ইসরায়েলি সেনাদের গুলি মাথায় লাগে; বিক্ষোভে হাজার হাজার মানুষ অংশ নেন। বিক্ষোভের সময় কিছু বিক্ষোভকারী টায়ার জ্বালায় এবং বেড়ার অপর পাশে অবস্থান নেওয়া ইসরায়েলি নিরাপত্তা বাহিনীর দিকে পাথর ছোড়ে। পায়ে আগের একটি গুলির আঘাতের কারণে ক্রাচ ব্যবহারকারী আবু মুস্তফা বেড়া থেকে অন্তত ১০০ মিটার দূরে একটি গাছের নিচে বসে থাকার সময় গুলিবিদ্ধ হন। অল্প পরেই আঘাতজনিত কারণে শহীদ হন।

Hit in the head by Israeli soldiers’ gunfire during the Return Protests near the Gaza perimeter fence, north of the town of Khuza’ah; thousands took part in the protests. During the demonstration, some of the demonstrators torched tires and threw stones at Israeli security forces who were stationed on the other side of the fence. Abu Mustafa, who was using crutches due to a previous gunshot wound to the leg, was hit while seated under a tree, at least 100 meters away from the fence. He succumbed to his wounds shortly after.
