আল-আকসা প্রাঙ্গণের অন্যতম প্রবেশপথ বাব আস-সিলসিলার কাছে ইসরায়েলি পুলিশ ও সীমান্ত পুলিশের গুলিতে আহত হন; পুলিশের দাবি, তিনি তাঁদের ছুরিকাঘাতের চেষ্টা করেছিলেন। অল্পক্ষণ পরেই আঘাতজনিত কারণে শহীদ হন। ইসরায়েল ১৯ নভেম্বর ২০২১ পর্যন্ত তাঁর মরদেহ আটকে রাখে।
