আশ-শেখ জায়েদ টাওয়ারে পাশাপাশি অবস্থিত তাঁদের অ্যাপার্টমেন্টগুলোতে বোমা হামলায় বাবা-মা এবং তিন মাস বয়সী এক শিশুকন্যাসহ আল-গাজালি পরিবারের তিন সদস্যের সঙ্গে শহীদ হন। বোমা হামলার পরদিনই কেবল তাঁর বাবা-মায়ের মরদেহ খুঁজে পাওয়া যায়।
