ইসলামিক জিহাদের সামরিক শাখার একটি পর্যবেক্ষণ চৌকিতে ট্যাংকের গোলা আঘাত হানলে গুরুতর আহত হন। সেনাবাহিনীর ভাষ্য অনুযায়ী, চৌকির বিপরীতে গাজা সীমান্ত বেড়ায় একটি বিস্ফোরক ডিভাইস স্থাপনের জবাবে গোলাগুলো ছোড়া হয়। কিছুক্ষণ পরেই আল-আমুর আঘাতের কারণে শহীদ হন। গোলাবর্ষণে আরও দুই যোদ্ধা শহীদ হন।
