استُشهد في منزله عندما هدمه الجيش الإسرائيلي ردًا على إطلاق ابنه النار على جنود عند حاجز إيرز. وعندما جاء الجنود إلى المنزل رفض الخروج وألقى عليهم قنبلة يدوية.

Killed in his house when the IDF demolished it in response to his son firing at soldiers at the Erez checkpoint. When the soldiers came to the house, he refused to go outside, and he threw a grenade at them.
