استُشهد بعد أن دخل جنود منزله لاعتقال شخص، وأطلقوا النار على ابنه وأصابوه. وألقى أبو مرية أواني فخارية على الجنود من شرفة في الطابق الثاني من منزله، فأطلق الجنود النار عليه ثلاث مرات في صدره.

Killed after soldiers entered his home to make an arrest, and shot and wounded his son. Abu Mariyah threw pottery at the soldiers from a balcony on the second floor of his home and the soldiers shot him three times in the chest.
