استُشهد مع أخيه أثناء فرارهما من منزلهما، قرب منزل القيادي الرفيع في حماس محمود الزهار الذي كان يُقصف. وأُصيب أخ آخر في الحادث وتوفي بعد ١٥ يومًا.

Killed with his brother while fleeing from his home, near the house of senior Hamas official Mahmud a-Zahar, which was being bombed. Another brother was wounded in the incident and died 15 days later.
