Shot in the head by Israeli security forces during the Return Protests in which thousands took part near the Gaza perimeter fence, east of al-Bureij Refugee Camp, while he was about 100 meters from the fence. During the protest, some of the demonstrators torched tires and threw stones at Israeli security forces stationed on the other side of the fence.
