Resultó herido cuando huía de su casa, cerca de la casa del alto cargo de Hamás Mahmud a-Zahar, que estaba siendo bombardeada, y murió unas dos semanas después a causa de sus heridas. Dos de sus hermanos murieron en el incidente.

Wounded while fleeing from his home, near the house of senior Hamas official Mahmud a-Zahar, which was being bombed, and died some two weeks later from his wounds. Two of his brothers were killed in the incident.
