Resultó herido en la cabeza por disparos de las fuerzas de seguridad israelíes durante la Gran Marcha del Retorno junto a la valla perimetral de Gaza, al este del campo de refugiados de Bureij; miles de personas participaron en las protestas. Durante la protesta, algunos manifestantes quemaron neumáticos y lanzaron piedras contra las fuerzas de seguridad israelíes apostadas al otro lado de la valla. Murió a causa de sus heridas en un hospital de Hebrón.

Injured in the head by Israeli security forces’ fire during the Return Protests near the Gaza perimeter fence, east of al-Bureij Refugee Camp; thousands took part in the protests. During the protest, some of the demonstrators torched tires and threw stones at Israeli security forces stationed on the other side of the fence. He died of his wounds in hospital in Hebron.
