বুরেইজ শরণার্থী শিবিরের পূর্বে গাজা সীমান্ত বেড়ার কাছে গ্রেট মার্চ অব রিটার্ন বিক্ষোভের সময় ইসরায়েলি নিরাপত্তা বাহিনীর গুলিতে মাথায় আহত হন; বিক্ষোভে হাজারো মানুষ অংশ নেন। বিক্ষোভের সময় কিছু বিক্ষোভকারী টায়ারে আগুন দেন এবং বেড়ার অপর পাশে অবস্থান নেওয়া ইসরায়েলি নিরাপত্তা বাহিনীর দিকে পাথর ছোড়েন। হেবরনের একটি হাসপাতালে আঘাতজনিত কারণে শহীদ হন।
