রাফাহ শহরের পূর্বে গাজার সীমান্ত বেড়ার কাছে গ্রেট মার্চ অব রিটার্নের বিক্ষোভে ইসরায়েলি নিরাপত্তা বাহিনীর গুলিতে পেটে গুলিবিদ্ধ হন; বিক্ষোভে হাজারো মানুষ অংশ নেন। বিক্ষোভের সময় কিছু বিক্ষোভকারী টায়ার জ্বালান এবং বেড়ার ওপাশে অবস্থান নেওয়া ইসরায়েলি নিরাপত্তা বাহিনীর দিকে পাথর ছোড়েন। কিছুক্ষণ পর আঘাতজনিত কারণে শহীদ হন।
