পরিবারটি যে বাসযোগ্য আবাসিক ভবনের একটি পরিত্যক্ত কিন্ডারগার্টেনে আশ্রয় নিয়েছিল, সেখানে হামলায় স্বামী, পাঁচ সন্তান ও দুই দেবরসহ আরও ৩২ জনের সঙ্গে শহীদ হন। ভবনটি ভেতরের লোকজনের ওপর ধসে পড়ে এবং সবাই শহীদ হন। হামলায় পাশের বাড়ির এক মেয়েও শহীদ হয়।
