استُشهد مع ستة فلسطينيين آخرين (عنصران في الجناح العسكري لحماس وأربعة عناصر في الجناح العسكري للجهاد الإسلامي) أثناء محاولات انتشال القتلى والجرحى من نفق قصفه الجيش الإسرائيلي داخل الأراضي الإسرائيلية، قرب كيبوتس كيسوفيم. وأسفر القصف عن مقتل خمسة عناصر آخرين في الجناح العسكري للجهاد الإسلامي داخل الأراضي الإسرائيلية. وبعد يومين من القصف أعلنت إسرائيل أنها لن تسمح بإجلاء أي ضحايا آخرين.

Killed along with six other Palestinians (two Hamas military branch operatives and four Islamic Jihad military branch operatives) during efforts to carry away the dead and wounded from a tunnel the Israeli military had bombed in Israeli territory, near Kibbutz Kissufim. The bombing killed five other Islamic Jihad military branch operatives in Israeli territory. Two days after the bombing, Israel stated it would not allow the evacuation of any other casualties.
