استُشهد في المنزل مع ١٥ من أفراد عائلته، بينهم ثلاثة آخرون من عناصر الجناح العسكري لحماس، في غارة جوية على منازل عائلة النجار الممتدة. ودمّرت الغارة منزلين للعائلة قُتل في كل منهما ثمانية أشخاص. وتضررت منازل أخرى.

Killed at home with 15 members of his family, including three other Hamas military branch operatives, in an air strike on the homes of the extended a-Najar family. The strike destroyed two of the family's homes, in each of which eight people were killed. Other houses were damaged.
