أُصيب برصاص الجنود في بطنه إصابة قاتلة خلال احتجاج قرب السياج الحدودي شرقي خزاعة. وخلال الاحتجاج رُشق الجنود الواقفون على الجانب الآخر من السياج بالحجارة. وتشير أبحاث بتسيلم إلى أن النجار كان يقف على بعد نحو ١٥٠ مترًا من السياج ولم يرشق الحجارة. وأُصيب متظاهران، أحدهما قاصر، بالشظايا.

Fatally shot in the abdomen by soldiers during protest near the perimeter fence east of Khuza'ah. During the protest, rocks were thrown at soldiers standing on the other side of the fence. B’Tselem’s research indicates a-Najar was standing about 150 meters away from the fence and did not throw rocks. Two protesters, including one minor, were injured from shrapnel.
