استُشهد أثناء لعبه كرة القدم مع شبان آخرين. أُصيب اثنان واستُشهدا في المكان، وبعد دقائق أُطلقت قذائف دبابة أخرى فقتلت شخصين آخرين في الموقع. وأُصيب شخص آخر في الموقع كان مشاركًا في الأعمال العدائية وتوفي متأثرًا بجراحه بعد ثلاثة أيام. وقبل ذلك بوقت قصير أطلق فلسطينيون مسلحون صاروخًا مضادًا للدروع على جيب استطلاع عسكري قرب السياج الحدودي.

Killed while playing soccer with other youths. Two were wounded and killed on the spot and a few minutes later, more tank shells were fired, killing two other people at the scene. One other person at the scene who was a participant in hostilities was also wounded and died of his injuries three days later. A short time earlier, armed Palestinians fired an anti-tank missile at a military reconnaissance jeep near the perimeter fence.
