È stato ucciso insieme alla madre e al fratello, miliziano dell'ala militare di Hamas, nel loro appartamento in un edificio del quartiere di a-Sheikh Radwan, a Gaza City. In quell'edificio abitava anche Muhammad a-Deif, capo dell'ala militare di Hamas. Nell'attacco sono stati uccisi anche la moglie di a-Deif e i loro due figli, una bambina di due anni e un neonato di sette mesi.

Killed with his mother and brother, a Hamas military branch operative, in their apartment in a building in the a-Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, Gaza City. Muhammad a-Deif, head of the Hamas military branch, also lived in that building. A-Deif’s wife and their two children, a two-year-old girl and a seven-month old baby boy, were also killed in the strike.
