সেনাবাহিনীর বোমা হামলায় ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত বাড়ি থেকে চাচাতো ভাইকে মালামাল সরাতে সাহায্য করার পর মোহাম্মদ আবু দাক্কার সঙ্গে শহীদ হন। গ্যাস সিলিন্ডারসহ বাড়ির জিনিসপত্র বোঝাই একটি ঠেলাগাড়িতে করে তিনি যাচ্ছিলেন। তারা অস্ত্র পরিবহন করছিলেন বলে দাবি করা প্রতিবেদনগুলো বেতসেলেম যাচাই করে দাবিটি প্রত্যাখ্যান করে।
