সীমান্ত বেড়া থেকে প্রায় ১০০ মিটার দূরে একটি বিক্ষোভে অংশ নেওয়ার সময় মাথায় গুলিবিদ্ধ হয়ে শহীদ হন; বিক্ষোভে বেড়ার ওপারে মাটির ঢিবির আড়ালে থাকা সেনাদের দিকে পাথর ছোড়া হয়। পরে একই বিক্ষোভে আরেক বিক্ষোভকারী গুলিতে শহীদ হন।
