নিজেদের কৃষিজমিতে পরিবারের চার সদস্যের সঙ্গে শহীদ হন। পরিবারের আরও দুই সদস্য কয়েক দিন পর আঘাতজনিত কারণে শহীদ হন। ঘটনায় নয় বছরের কম বয়সী পাঁচ শিশু শহীদ হয়। পরিবারের আরেক সদস্য, নয় বছর বয়সী এক ছেলে, চার হাত-পায়েরই কার্যক্ষমতা হারায়। আহত হওয়ার পর সে হাসপাতালে লাইফ সাপোর্টে ছিল এবং প্রায় সাড়ে চার বছর পর মারা যায়।
