রাফাহ শহরের পূর্বে গাজা সীমান্ত বেড়ার কাছে গ্রেট মার্চ অব রিটার্ন বিক্ষোভের সময় বেড়া থেকে প্রায় ১০০ মিটার দূরে থাকা অবস্থায় ইসরায়েলি নিরাপত্তা বাহিনীর গুলিতে বুকে আঘাত পান। বিক্ষোভে হাজারো মানুষ অংশ নেন। বিক্ষোভে কিছু বিক্ষোভকারী বেড়ার অপর পাশে অবস্থান নেওয়া ইসরায়েলি সেনাদের দিকে পাথর, হাতে তৈরি গ্রেনেড ও মলোটভ ককটেল ছোড়েন এবং কেউ কেউ আগুনে বেলুন ওড়ান।
