তিনি যে বাড়িতে অবস্থান নিয়েছিলেন, সেটিতে তাজা গুলি ও ট্যাংক-বিধ্বংসী ক্ষেপণাস্ত্র ছোড়া ইসরায়েলি বিশেষ পুলিশ ইউনিটের সদস্যদের সঙ্গে গুলিবিনিময়ের সময় আহত হন। কিছুক্ষণ পর আঘাতজনিত কারণে শহীদ হন। বাড়িতে তার সঙ্গে থাকা আরেক ফিলিস্তিনি সদস্যও শহীদ হন। শহরে চলা গুলিবিনিময় ও সংঘর্ষে প্রায় ৪০ জন ফিলিস্তিনি তাজা গুলিতে আহত হন, যাদের মধ্যে এক তরুণ কিছুক্ষণ পর এবং এক ব্যক্তি ২৩ আগস্ট ২০২২ তারিখে আঘাতজনিত কারণে শহীদ হন।
