استُشهد مع اثنين آخرين من عناصر الجناح العسكري للجهاد الإسلامي، بينهم أخوه، خلال تبادل لإطلاق النار مع القوات الإسرائيلية التي أطلقت الذخيرة الحية وصواريخ مضادة للدبابات على المنزل الذي تحصنوا فيه. وكان غنيم من عناصر الجناح العسكري للجهاد الإسلامي. وخلال اقتحامها المخيم، قتلت القوات ستة فلسطينيين آخرين، بينهم عنصر في كتائب شهداء الأقصى، وجرحت ٢٠، توفي أحدهم متأثرًا بجراحه في ٢٩ يناير ٢٠٢٣.

Killed along with two other Islamic Jihad military wing operatives, including his brother, during an exchange of fire with Israeli forces that fired live ammunition and anti-tank missiles at the house where they had barricaded themselves. Ghneim was an Islamic Jihad military wing operative. During their incursion into the camp, the forces killed six more Palestinians, including an al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigade operative, and wounded 20, one of whom died of his wounds on 29 January 2023.
